Carnivals near Bath, Bristol & Wells
The Guy Fawkes Carnival Circuit is highly regarded as the largest spectacular illuminated processions in the world, visiting several towns in Somerset, all near to Bath Chew Valley Caravan Park. The Somerset Carnivals date back more than 400 years, and are one of the most spectacular unique events in Somerset today. Carts designed and built by dedicated carnival clubs around the West Country, then take part in the carnival parade, with over 100 entries each year.

Midsomer Norton Illuminated Carnival: Monday 10th November 2025
This procession takes place in Midsomer Norton, a small town about 9 miles from the park. It's the largest community event in the Somer Valley, providing an opportunity for the whole community to come together for an evening of glittering spectacle consisting of large illuminated carts, walking groups, and more.
Shepton Mallet Carnival: Friday 12th November 2025
The Shepton Mallet Illuminated Carnivals are a Somerset tradition that families far and wide have loved for a very long time. This procession, in Shepton Mallet, is about 15 miles from the park.
Wells City Carnival: Friday 14th November 2025
Join thousands of spectators as they gather to witness an enchanting spectacle like no other in England's smallest city. Watch as brilliantly illuminated floats, vibrant marching bands, talented musicians, and energetic dance acts weave through the medieval streets of Wells, about 12 miles from the park.
